Thank you to everyone for your warm welcomes. This is really a very nice community. I have researched the prices of the various generations and have been budgeting to pay the price for the cat that I want. I did the same form of research before I bought my Bengal. He was just a bit more than what I had budgeted for, but when the right cat comes along, it will be with the cost. I look forward to reading all the posts and eventually posting some of my own questions and threads in the immediate future.

That would be great! I would certainly like that since I have only seen one Savannah cat in person at a pet expo in Pomona,CA many years ago. It was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. I think the price at that time was $14,000. Please let me know when the next show will be there.

What breeder(s) are you looking at?
While they can only show SBT cats at the show, some of the breeders will bring the F1-3's along. I went to the Arcadia show 3 years back to look at the Pixie Bobs and was pleasantly surprised to see my savannah breeder there showing his SBT. This was a few months before I got my baby and I had already been in contact with him for a couple of years while I was doing the research.

Jesse, this is the link for current and future TICA shows: http://www.tica.org/public/calendar.php

I really hope you can make a show or two and meet breeders and their cats! You will find Savannah breeders are super friendly :) If there is a show nearby you want to attend, you can send an email to the show manager/entry clerk (usually listed on the show flyer) and ask if there are any Savannahs entered for that particular show.

I have been looking at the savannahcatbreed.com website for several years, but I have never initiated any contact. They have a very good website with a pretty large selection of cats ranging from F6s to F1s and they even have a "perfect" F1 kitten for a pretty hefty sum! Have you heard anything about them?
