That is the website for Select Exotics in Illinois.

There are several forum members here who have cats from this breeder...hopefully they can chime in with their experiences!

That is awesome to know. I hope someone writes in. They appear to have a really good operation, so I have used their site to look at available kittens at the different price points.

I have three savannahs from SE. F5 female 9yo, two F3 full brothers 6yo and 5yo. My son has a F3 male 5yo. Best cats of my life. I would recommend this breeder without any hesitation. I have personally visited the cattery. Top shelf, First class operation. I liked my F3 Rascal so much I requested a full brother, and got way more than I expected with Mayhem. Wouldn't want it any other way! The cats are well behaved (well, err, better than most you read about on these forums, anyway), socialized, healthy, and lively.

I have two savannahs from Select Exotics and I am very, very happy with them. Now 5 1/2 months old F2 female and an F3 male 2 weeks apart. They spent time together there and then were shipped together to me. Adorable, lovable, affectionate, and hilarious.

When you do contact them, let them know what you are looking for in a kitten. Size, coloring, spots or rosettes. It's so easy to fall in love with them all, but hard to tell some things from the photos especially if the kittens are young. Holly was very helpful when I was trying to figure it all out.

Trishy was spot on about talking to Holly about what you want in the cat. We talked with Holly and told her that the personality was more important than the spots. She was able to guide us to Rascal. So a discussion is well worth the effort.

Thank you guys for sharing your experience. I have followed this website for a few years mostly to keep abreast of the differences between the filial classifications and the approximate price trends as I am prepared to pay the cost for the cat that touches my heart. I won't contact them until I am at the point of purchasing a cat as am sure they are pretty busy. My first preferences are the F1 through F3 generations as the look is important to me but as I read, I am finding that the different cats all have different personalities despite the F number. So, on with my reading and my research using this forum as my guide. Thanks to all!

Since Select Exotics' prices are pretty out there, I would suggest looking at the breeders here for your savannah kitten...the breeders listed in our breeder directory have F1's through F6's...SE has exorbitant prices for no good reason, similar to the prices A1 Savannahs used to charge...they do it because people fall for the hype...

Not to mention you can meet breeders on this coast or get active breeder participation with reputable breeders throughout the country. Sorry-- I've heard too many stories of the cat being delivered not being the kitten in the one or two pics you receive. I'd rather use a breeder that does weekly pics-- sue sent me pics every week of my Una and I truly appreciated it.
