Welcome, Kate/Kat, and my condolences on the loss of your Midnight. Twenty years is a good, long life for a kitty...

I'm glad you found us!

Welcome Kate, I'm very glad you found this forum! You have some awesome breeders right in your area, but there are breeders all over the US here as well. So just as a tease, here is an F3C Savannah kitten 5-1/2 weeks old:

Ahhhh! Why must you do this? Haha I already have, dare I say it, cat fever!

What an adorable ball of mischief though! I can't wait to experience all the wonders that come from being owned by a Savannah :)

Kate, I have 3 of Patti's Savannahs. They are wonderful little loves. Patti is a darlin', and her babies are great. :)

3?? Oh my goodness, how do you handle all of the cuteness and love?

I want one of these darlins so very badly haha, though I'm torn between getting a wee one or trying to find an older kitten/adult. I don't know how to decide!

I have a 4 yr old F3C female retired breeder, Azidi - a 2 yr old F5SBT female, Kilifi ( my first Savannah ) - and an 8 month old F2B male, Regulus. The 4 yr old is quite reclusive. She would rather be alone, although she is quite friendly to me. THe other 2 are daddy's naughty kids. The female is my spoiled princess, and the male is my new prince.

Kittens are much more fun, as you can really work with them and bond closely. Older ones take more time and can be frustrating.

I'll admit, the kitten cuteness is addictive! There is a breeder in my area that just had gorgeous F3 kittens 5-6 days ago. I literally live like 15-20 mins from them. Do you know how hard that is to resist?! :p I just want to be sure I can provide the time/attention that a kitten needs/deserves.
I work 8-5 Monday thru Friday. Granted, I live 5 minutes from my work and go home for lunch. There is always somebody at my house, so he/she would never be alone. There is also the possibility of working from home some days or bringing the little monster with me if needed when he/she is older.
I'm just nervous, like any potential New mommy I suppose!

I work also, and I am gone 9 hrs per day. AND I live alone. But with both Kilifi, who came to me at 10 months old and Regie who came home at 13 weeks, I was able to bond very fast. Did not get much else done around the house for the 2 week quarentine period, but it worked out. There was other cat company for both. Even though they only saw each other through the air grille in the door to the quarentine room.

Ah, you give me hope! That does make me feel better. The two week quarantine period wouldn't be an issue, I have vacation time coming ;)
