Welcome, Kristin, and love your new kitten's name!

Adamcrssmn, you can ALWAYS name your cat! Even if they come from the breeder with a name, or are even registered...what you call them is completely up to you! We name our kittens here as I think it nicer than having a number called "kitten1" etc for three months or so while they are here...but I always make it clear to their new home that they can rename the kitten. Probably about half keep the name and the other half choose a new one.
Ours came to us when they were about 2 1/2 years old. We talked about it (neither one of us are big fans of their names) and decided to use their existing names... We have a whole slew of variations... ;)

King and Karma... OR... King Winey-Pants and Queen Karm-a-lot... Pretty much ANYTHING that sounds similar or is excessively descriptive is fair game when I'm talking to them... :p

One of the kittens (the "marble") managed to get him/herself a name b/c he/she looks similar to my male Bengal while the other 2 look EXACTLY like dad... I went on a "Maury" tangent with this whole, "Lookit, Maury... This ain't mah seed! Mah seed look just like me, Maury!!! He look like that b@#* that live upstairs! It ain't right Maury. It ain't right!" (This is the shortened, edited version) "King, when it comes to 1 week old, Hector... You ARE the father!!!"

I'm not sure, exactly, where "Hector" came from, but we've been calling him/her that ever since... KITTENS.jpg
