Welcome Shelly, it sounds like you've already discovered how wonderful and chaotic life with a Savannah can be!

Welcome Shelly and Sid. After reading what has been said, you will both fit in here perfectly. A devoted human servant and a feisty Savanna master.
Sid you're lookin' good there boy. :)

Welcome Shelly and Sid! SV's seem to think their servants might want a nose peircing. I don't know how many times i have shown up to work sporting a red dot on the tip of my nose!

I sure hope I'm posting in the right area. Hello, my name is Shelly. I am new here and also a new "servant" to an 8 month old F3 Savannah. His name is Sid and he has brought so much life into our home over the last couple of weeks. I have been a Savannah lover for years and I am so excited now that I finally have my own! I look forward to reading about all of yours and seeing photos as well.

Welcome aboard.. It is always great to have another Savannah Servant here... Sid certainly looks like a well behaved boy... Send us some pictures of his antics... Everyone knows that Savannahs get into things and do things they should not.

Or who needs noses? I thought Sid was being really sweet licking my nose until he took a lil chomp. It was all in good fun but it hurt

Disclaimer: not a Savannah story...

Years ago we adopted a semi-feral neighborhood cat. He would sometimes get playfully aggressive with my wife when he thought it was time to be fed--swatting at her ankles, and, occasionally biting said ankles. Not hard, but making his point.

We named him Vampire...

Sometime a while later, Carolyn is asleep in bed, and she awakes to this cat on her and staring right at her with that black eyes no iris look that cats get when hunting, etc. She turns away, a bit disconcerted, and he bites her on the neck. No blood, but marks...two...

Carolyn isn't quite sure what was going on, or how to handle this, so she calls the vet. Someone answers and Carolyn proceeded to tell them about her cat biting her on the neck. This someone then asks what the cat's name is. Carolyn says "Vampire", and they did not hit the mute button fast enough and Carolyn heard them laughing...

Vampire let my daughter and I be dominant, but always made it clear that Carolyn was below him in the pecking order!

Yes, sometimes you set things in motion with the name.

Years ago, I got a kitten to celebrate getting my fellowship for a doctorate in Microbiology. My friends thought I should name her something appropriate so after running through some bacterial names she became Salmonella (Ella for short)... you guessed it, within a week she was at the vet with a gastrointestinal infection and yes, they also had a very good laugh about her name ;-)
