Hello everyone. My name is Danny and me and my wife just got a savannah cat. His name is Simba, and he had a great personality. We have had him since Saturday and he is fitting in r home very nicely. Accept that my 2 year old is a little scared of him, but I think she needs time to feel him out. Mind u she is terrified of all aniMals. This is one of the main reasons we got a cat do she can get used to pets in general.

Little about my Simba. His name is Simba was born June 2,2012 do he is almost ten weeks old if my math is right. He is an f4 and the breeder said he is like 11.8 percent serval which I don't now what that means lol. But we r so happy with him he is so cute and like to play. We r alrdy talking about getting another one lol.

I have a question to all the experts. How many times a day should I feed wet? Also can I feed my savannah raw meat? I'm asking coz the breeder told me to feed him once a day wet food that is, and the other night he was meowing and he was sitting next to his empty bowl so I fed him agin. So iv bin feeding him twice a day with wrt food. Once in the morning before we head to work and in the evening around five r dinner time.

Most recommend feeding kittens 3-4 times per day and leaving a bit of kibble down when you're not home. My preference is to feed wet in the morning, when you get home from work, and before bedtime. Feed him as much as he wants to eat -- he's a growing boy. You can feed raw meat but before you do, you should read through the ton of info we have here http://www.savannahcatchat.com/forums/savannah-cat-diet/ as well as at catinfo.org and catnutrition.org.

Are you feeding him anything besides the wet? If not, then I agree with Deborah - he should be fed several times a day until he is older. Raw is always good but again if you're going to feed raw exclusively you need to be sure to add all the essential nutrients. It might be easiest to simply put out a high quality dry kibble (e.g, Evo, Taste of the Wild, Wellness, etc.) during the day for him to graze on, that way he will be able to eat as much as he wants.

Welcome, Danny! Simba is a cutie :)

I feed my kittens (and cats) as much as they want... none are chubby so they obviously need it! So if he seems hungry feed him the canned twice a day. Does he have kibble out as well? Being away all day means it probably is better if he can snack when you are gone...

My cats get a variety of raw and canned foods, they each have different likes and I tend to accomodate them.

Hey everyone, thanks for the replays!! Ok so first things first. I leave him water and a bowl of dry food out all day. Right now I am feeding him dry and wet food. He also likes cooked chicken, which he downed last night for dinner. He was so full he found a corner to lay down and pass out lol. I'm not planning on feeding him raw food all the time just maybe once or twice a week. I'll post some new pictures tonight when I get home.
