F4 and beyond Savannahs are perfectly legal in Minnesota, but that's only because they are no longer considered hybrids at that point; and while they make wonderful pets, I, personally, have an affinity for the earlier generations.

Yes...SBT's are great cats...you may be waiting a long while for the law to change, if it ever does...it takes a lot of work and organization, but it can be done...just takes years :-(

Most SBTs I've known are amazing companions, and their owners should consider themselves lucky to have them!

I figured it would take a long time for the law to change, and I don't know that it will. Do you know of anyone on this site from Minnesota who is actively trying to get the law changed? It would be nice to organize a bit.

I don't...but let me check and see if anyone wants to work on it from people I know...and we are always here to help you...just has to be people from the state willing to work on it...

Sooo...seems that EG cats are legal in Minnesota...I would not pay attention to Wildcat Sanctuary...they interpeted the law their own way...

Well there ya go Shounenbat...great news! Now all you have to do is save up the shekels, find a breeder, and enter the Savannah bliss zone.

Please be very selective in your choices; see the many posts about legitimate honorable breeders here on this forum, there are many many scams...& bad people passing themselves off as Breeders.

Thanks for clearing that up for me, guys! When I was researching laws and came across their site, I figured it was I who had interpreted the law wrong. I'm going to keep doing my research, and hopefully I'll be in a position sometime soon where I can take in a cat.
