My vet breeds F1's as well as F2's

Your boy looks very sweet, but as you mentioned, it is difficult to tell much from the photos you sent. There may be some Savannah in him (your vet has seen him in person, we've only seen a couple of candid photos) but as Paige pointed out, without any paperwork there is no way to tell what generation he is (I'm assuming that is what you are asking). What generation(s) does your vet breed?

It's a breed typing test that you can do we have done it before with our dogs to make sure their care was well taken care of and a couple of cats I have adopted over the years.

There is no blood DNA test for Savannahs... So I'm still not sure what you mean. You will not find out generation or anything else Savannah from that bloodwork.

It's genetic DNA testing through UCDavis it can tell you where it's DNA comes from if it has a parent you just have to get blood from both parents and test. Like a paternity test

There is no blood DNA test for Savannahs... So I'm still not sure what you mean. You will not find out generation or anything else Savannah from that bloodwork.

So you have had blood drawn from the male and are testing for paternity of your kitten? That would establish that that male was the parent, but it doesn't establish that that cat is a Savannah.

Have you a screenshot of the papers? It would be fascinating as this would actually be a world FIRST if an F2 Savannah male fathered a kitten! Hybrids between different species often have fertility issues (read about Haldane's Rule) and generally it is the male offspring that have fertility woes. So we have found in the years of development of the Savannah breed that males will not be fertile until F5 or more. There have been a handful of fertile F4 males but not even a fertile F3 male documented.

We ordered a blood DNA typing test on our little boy and get results this week. I have also recently went and saw the father myself and his owners had paperwork stating he was Savannah breed. Looks like they let him out and wander and he had bred with my friends female domestic while she was in heat. He was an F2 from their paperwork.

Interesting, your original email was much less specific about the father and you didn't know the generation? If the father is indeed F2 then your kitten is F3 generation. Just most people will sincerely doubt the truth of this because there has never been a fertile F2 Savannah male. I would double check that paperwork and verify that!!

There are no vets in your state that breed F1's, since servals are illegal to own there. It would be better for you to be truthful a bout everything as right about now, you are coming off as a troll.

If you want help with your kitten, we are here...if you want us to tell you he is a savannah, that is just not going to happen...
