Hi Everyone !!!!!

Jim & Baghira

I have a question.... We bought him a cardboard scratch board that came with catnip. We didn´t use the catnip, but I think there was already something on it.
My question is does anyones cat seem to get hyper or agressive with catnip???
He plays with it and his play gets more and more agressive... if ya put your hand anywhere near him he goes after it.

Both my girls get a little wild when they do the Catnip thing. But they neither one become so aggressive as to scratch or bite. But that is just my girls. Not sure about others.
Your boy is so very cute. He fetches like my Kilifi. He even walks like her. I love it. :)

Uh yeah! Some of mine lose their poise at times! Rascal in particular forgets himself every now and then.
We do get a good laugh when after some time they go off on the nod (nap) after a good dose! House is quiet for a few hours!:)

When mine were kittens they got overstimulated with catnip and we kept soft toys nearby so they could rabbit-kick them instead of us. Now that they're grown, one takes a hit and wants to eat and then nap (reminds me of me when I used to smoke human catnip:confused:), one still goes bonkers and acts like he's hallucinating, and one goes "meh" and walks away.

Cats and kittens can definitely get overstimulated by catnip, and sometimes they will forget their boundaries and bite or scratch. The best thing to do is to redirect them with other toys as Deborah suggested.
