I'm loving the company of us slave/parents hard at work .....making and creating items for our furbabies to enjoy! (BABIES ????)
I created a 7 ft indoor palm tree that I have had for 10 years. Poor kitty has been looking at it for a year and a half. I had covered it with clear tape sticky side out. So she wasn't attempting to climb at all, but she did spend a lot of time staring it down. I decided to tear apart my palm and redo it for her. I've been working on it now for 2 weeks. Recovering it with brown runners before the final fabric covering. Will post photo when it's completed. Kitty has already climbed to the top and loves it.
FINALLY ON FINAL COVERING. I covered it with rug runners, since the tree is constructed from chicken wire I felt it necessary to provide a stable covering for kitty to sink her claws into for safe climbing. I have learned that when working with rubberbacked carpet and upholstery needles creates a very stressful project. I kept reminding myself I only need to do this once! THAT IS WHAT HAS DELAYED THIS PROJECT. I'm hoping the last covering of animal print fabric going over the rug runners isn't such a big headache. Posting to update, this slave is still hard at work. Sidebar- uTube channel is all set up. Now just need to understand and learn how to work sunco sports camera HD DV.

I'll look for a before photo and post it. How I had enjoyed it for 10 + years. I designed it so the plug for the lights is in the frons, no visible cord going up the palm.

That is the fanciest darn cat tree ever! Just saw it in the "Designing with a kitty (or multiple!) in mind" thread.
