He's home! Still pretty nervous is currently hiding. I can imagine shipping being pretty traumatic, but I hope he warms up soon. He's so beautiful! I can't wait to get more pics.
Congrats on getting Zubi home earlier than planned. Give him all the time he needs to adjust to all the new and scary sights, sounds, smells. Everything is new for him and his senses are likely a bit overwhelmed. Sit on the floor and swish a wand toy around and see if he'll come out to play. Don't try to touch him for a day or two (unless he initiates contact) so he can observe you and try to figure you out. Put some of his food in your palm and see if you can entice him to eat from it to build trust.

Thanks for the advice. I laid on the floor earlier and talked to him for awhile. He relaxed some and moved around a little. My husband tried to play a little bit and his ears perked up, but he didn't actually play. I'm sure some time not being in a crate and moving vehicle should help relax him!

We are new here too. If you are into WWII history Eugene Sledge Aka: Sledged Hammer This was our second choice but are going with 'Leto'... yes if you are into the Dune books. It's Duke Leto (we have yet to make our intro).

It will take a while for him to adjust and as long as you let him adjust on his terms, all should be ok. You can try to entice him with a teaser wand, if you have one.

Talking to him is great and the more you do that, the more he will get used to your voice and expect you to cater to his every whim ;)

It's kind of funny to watch them as they acclimate. You can tell by their little faces and body language that they are dying to play or get some lovin' but still not quite brave enough to make the attempt. Pupils dilate, ears perk up, whiskers come forward and you can just see the inner conflict....Ohhhhh I want to play with that soooooo bad, who is that scary person, ohhhhh look at the toy, ohhhh that person is big, ohhhhh FEATHERSssssssssssss:big grin:

Oh, he's so pretty! His spots really pop :)

Looks like he's coming around nicely!

(I reduced the size of your pics to thumbnails, can still see them full size when they are clicked on).
