This makes me so sad and mad. If this happened to a human, you could sue for malpractice. Since it happened to a non-human member of the family...the family has to pay the bills for the vet's mistake.

So sorry for your baby. Hope she isn't having any pain, and that they're able to make her well again.

I would sue the vet and have the vet foot all the bills...I'm gals Xumi is doing a bit better, but I feel the same way Dantes does...I pray that Xumi recovers from this :(

Thank you. Sad or mad is all I seem to be lately.

If I thought this was a result of extreme negligence, or something even more malicious, you can bet there would be hell to pay! As it is, I don't have proof of anything, including what exactly is wrong. Mostly I've been extremely disappointed and frustrated with the quality of the follow-up care, the lack of communication with respect to the diagnosis and treatment plan, and what I interpret as an absence of real concern for her well being. These are not issues worthy of litigation, but they certainly made it easy for me to decide to sever my long term relationship as a loyal client!

In the defense of veterinarians everywhere, we are all humans and as such are prone to mistakes, or being the party responsible when unfortunate circumstances happen on your watch. However, it's how one responds to such events that speaks to the quality of one's professional character.

That's the voice that speaks to me to take the high road. The other one? Well, let's just say you don't hurt my little girl without consequences!

This story just breaks my heart. I went through a rough time with my baby Vivi having so much trouble after her spay, so I can only imagine how you feel.

I really hope Xumi recovers, and that you can find a vet who is truly concerned about her well being.

This must be so upsetting to you. I just can't imagine what you are going through. Sending good thoughts for you precious Xumi.

Xumi had a neurological exam yesterday and also some bloodwork, which came back normal. The nect step will be an MRI, but the vet advised that we wait a couple of weeks, because she's just stopped taking the prednisolone, which could skew results by masking symptoms.
