Great tips, thanks everyone for weighing in. Yes I'm definitely on top of the whole "can I trust this breeder" and have lots of paranoia in a good way! Hopefully we'll eventually find the right boy for us that is within a reasonable drive!

I drove to Michigan from New Jersey to pick up my first two girls (F3B and F4B). It was about a 12 hour drive. I divided the drive back over two days and spent the night in a hotel that allowed pets. There was a small litter box in their carrier for the long drive.

My F2B boy, which I got last month, came from Arizona. He flew by Untied Pet Safe program from Las Vegas to Philadelphia with a stop in Washington, DC. With United Petsafe, they fly in a special climate controlled and pressurized compartment. They are last to be put on the plane and first to be taken off. Unfortunately his flight from Las Vegas was delayed and he missed his connecting flight to Philly and had to spend the night in Washington, DC at a kennel until his rescheduled flight in the morning, which was stressful for myself and the breeder. My breeder would normally had him flown in the main cabin but she was unable to fly with him due to recent back surgery. Although it was stressful to us, my kitten was absolutely fine when I picked him up from the airport.
