Welcome! Not sure who is from where on here, but we are all friendly ;) feel free to chime in, ask questions or post photos/videos...who is that beautiful savannah in your avatar?

That is Presley, he is about 8 weeks in that pic. He was born on 4/29/2012. I'm not sure on what generation he is but I was told his dad is a serval and his mother a savannah. I got him from a friend who got him from someone she knew from work and she can vouch for the mother being a savannah. Anyway, Her other pets weren't getting along with Presley and she freaked because she heard he was a bit too young to be rehomed so I gladly took him. He has since adjusted well and is now a member of my family.

Welcome! Presley is a beautiful boy :) That's awesome you were able to take him and great he is doing well. Do you know the breeder he came from? That might narrow down what generation he is.

He is a lovely boy however if his sire is a serval, that would make him an F1 Savannah. He doesn't look like an F1 Savannah? Maybe they were confused about the pedigree. Pedigrees can be very hard to understand with cats, especially Savannahs.

Texas is a tricky state for Savannah owners- not sure there are many of them out there- or at least, many willing to admit they live there with SVs!

Welcome though :)

To my knowledge Dallas is the only major city in Texas that is not SV friendly. I'm not sure about smaller counties though. Now I'm curious. Please chime in if anyone knows.

Maybe I'm naive (or poor) but I was thinking that it would be strange to spend that much money on a cat to not even try to acclimate him with the other pets, if he is only 9-10 weeks old?
