So I spent three nights out of town but had my friends check in on Neo. Besides watching way too much hgtv he was great. Although he was very happy to see me. I even got him to hang out on my (loft) bed tonight for a few. By the way how do I not shock him when petting so much? Its like hes a static magnet.

If he lets you, hold his tail while you pet him. The connection to the tail will keep the static from building up.

We've started running humidifiers in the winter to minimize static. Our cats love those super fuzzy blankets in the winter because they are so soft and warm but they generate so much static electricity that the loud pops of static actually make me wince. They know by now that I'm not shocking them intentionally but I still feel guilty about it.
