I don't have a savannah but...

Yah...they are not a real breed...she just does her own thing :) She had to have bred her cats with a highlander, highland lynx or something similar...the ears are curly, which come from one of those breeds...

So which cat is yours in the photos? The top few look like snows, but the bottom couple are not snows...

Mine is the one in the top 4 pictures, the next 2 are his mom and then last 2 of his father. Pictures of Neo (the one I currently have) can be found earlier in this thread.

It is her own breed not a recognized breed. You are correct about the outcrossing which was with ALC Hybrids, Bengals, Desert Lynx and Highland Lynx.

He sure was cute as a baby, and such a handsome big boy now in the pics posted earlier in this thread!

I think I should clarify in case of any confusion. Neo who is seen from the start of this thread was my first. I joined here because of the great community and 'similarities' with the savannahs and it has proven to be a great resource and read. I am now getting a second cat/kitten which is the one that I just posted :) So excited!

Can I get some links to some of the post or articles on kitten/can acclimation? I am planning to use my bathroom for the new kitten (5 months old). Neo is very attached to me and while he has had dog visitors and done really well with them it is generally just me and him. So I want to make sure for everyone that I do this right.

Thanks in advance.

I am reading off my phone and can't seem to easily access the search function, but if you search "introductions" from the home page you should come up with several different threads that have discussed this.

here's a couple links that may help and are very informative...

http://www.savannahcatchat.com/threads/introducing-a-new-cat-into-the-family.4746/ & http://www.savannahcatchat.com/thre...ed-acclimating-your-new-sv-to-your-home.1959/

on the first post of each thread, there is a pdf document with much helpful insights.

Main thing I do when Acclimating new additions to family, find bonding works best if there is a bed in their room so one can sleep with their new fur babies daily, and have plenty of room fur play time. Am fortunate that have been able to have extra bedrooms so I could quarantine the twins, and take a real slow family introduction.

Main thing is don't try to rush things. Don't be surprised if Neo gets jealous and does some marking and not normal behavior. I took like four months before opening up most of the townhouse to full fur integration.

Congrats on the new fur baby!!! Looking forward to growing pics. Keep us updated and we definitely need more pics.!!!!! Like yesterday.!!!:roflmao:

Should be Wednesday. I am still waiting on the breeder to confirm. He got fixed yesterday but I was told it went well except he has a shaved stomach. Evidently they prepped him to be spayed thankfully they realized the mistake before going the extra mile... Remember initially they thought he was a she so.... The only thing that has me a little worried is that Saturday I have to be gone all day. I will prep my bathroom and already have an order of all sorts of goodies for him on the way arriving Tuesday. I have read a bunch but want to read more and make sure I am the purrfect daddy and Neo is happy too.
