Incision after surgery

The incision doesn't look red to me, it looks pink which is a sign of normal healing. It feels firm because it is forming scar tissue - again, a normal healing process after being cut. As long as it is not hot, bright red, swollen, or draining pus I don't think you need to worry about it

It's a really fuzzy picture but it doesn't seem swollen or oozing like Patti mentions...and those to me would be danger signs.

I suspect that maybe she did do a little too much today and hence the incision is a little inflamed...but that doesn't mean it is infected nor does it mean it will get worse. A good nights' sleep and she likely will be fine in the morning.

I can tell it is hard for you to relax, and I know I am a really great worrier over my babies so just hang in there!

Yes, I think there are plenty of us here who have had sleepless nights, gotten gray hairs, and worked on our ulcers worrying over our babies... we feel for you John!

Thanks for the input, the extra redness is still there this morning, but not nearly as bad as it was late yesterday, using an infrared thermometer last night, it was warmer by 2 deg F which does not seem to be that much. Yesterday, she was very active... I try to keep her slowed down as much as I can, but she just won't have it... If I try to lock her up she cries and cries and cries, so that does not work...

As for the fuzzy picture, it is very hard to get her to lay still a long enough with her back paws apart to get a good decent picture... She is very uncooperative with that.

I will try to keep images on this, especially if it gets worse.

Locking her up actually works very well, it's your caving to her cries that sabotages that method ;)

Now John, she is a lady and knows that she should not pose for pictures with her back paws apart! ;)
