interested in savannah have a couple questions

We have members here who have fish tanks and members who have birds that live with Savannahs. The folks with fish tanks have done some modifications to their tanks to keep the cats out. Hopefully the folks with birds will chime in with tips. I imagine training the cat from the get go is an important part in successful cohabitation. It's also possible that your fish tank and bird would need to be isolated from the cat so that is certainly something to consider.

I have 2 Savannahs, a domestic and 2 chinchillas. They all get along pretty fine. Birds, hmm, since birds are their natural prey, could be a big concern. Savannahs can open most any door, drawer or cupboard, so would ensure that the bird cage couldn't be opened by little paws, and that the couldn't reach through and snag the bird. Would not let the bird out while any of my cats were present. Well unless was going to feed the cat's. :D

We have a 210g ELOS aquarium, and a 34g Red Sea in the bedroom.
Mickey our F4 likes to dangle from the rimless ELOS. He also routinely destroyed our mesh cover. He goes after the fish with some success. Do you have a canopy? Fish and SVs can work if you plan carefully.
I didn't have such luck with our green cheek, Trix. Our F5 and F3 boys stalked her. She was living in a steel reinforced cage in a room with French doors, and she was flighted, and out with me in her room, and D our F5 opened the door and grabbed her from midair. We were really lucky she was not killed. She moved in with my mom the next day. She is fine, and happy with my parents, but hates me with a passion now for bringing cats into the house. It's been 3 years, and I am far from forgiven.

yeah, sound's exactly what all my cats would do, even my domestic, Queen Isis, is an extraordinary birder. Every time I go to the farmer co-op, and they have live chick's am always tempted to buy a few feeder birds, for the kids.
I have to laugh though, Isis is now an 8 year old black domestic that I adopted from the humane society, about 7 years ago. Outdoor indoor cat, but rules the neighborhood and can cower both my f3's. She only weighs 8 lbs, but have seen her chase stray tom's for a block off her territory. She's a Street Smart domestic, and is very protective of me. She always accompanies the sv's and me, while on walks, she basically likes to tease them cause she's not on a leash.

I have 4 parrots with my 2 cats, one is an F4 savannah. I have an Amazon, African Grey, Mini Macaw and a Pionus....the pionus being the smallest of the 4, but still bigger than your green cheek conure.
3 of my parrots (macaw, pionus and Grey) live in a 'parrot room' (mainly so we can shut the door when they get crazy noisy), other than that, the door is always open and there are litter boxes in there since Tiger (dsh) loves my parrots. Our Amazon doesn't care to associate with a flock and is in our living room.
When I first brought Zeddie home (F4), after her 2 weeks quarantine, I harnessed her and took the birds out. I let her wander around them to get acquainted, and I let them open their beaks at her, so she could understand they can hurt her. Anytime she showed interest in them as prey, she has been tossed out of the room. She has climbed on their cages before....because she was curious about their food. She climbed into my Grey's cage for the same reason. My Grey just looked at her and yelled at Tiger (I mean, they are both cats so she was close).
I think a lot of it depends on introductions. Prepare for the worst but hope for the best. Also, be careful how you treat your bird. Savannahs are so bonded to their owners, you wouldn't want your savannah to think that the bird is a nuisance. If Zeddie does feel the need to stalk a parrot, she will ALWAYS stalk our amazon because she is the noisiest and drives more people crazy. That being said, my Amazon's cage is far off the ground and has a lot of space to move around in.
Our parrots do come out with Zeddie. She usually just stays away then...unless my macaw is running around, then she watches his tail since it is very long.
I also never use feathers on cat toys, and I never buy birdie cat toys.
Their compatibility would vary on generation of savannah, as well as each individual personality.
