Intro Thread!

I did the 2 week quarantine with her, and she is locked in my room at night with me so she had no choice but to bond to me Now she waits for me at the door when I leave haha.
I am in Hamilton...well, Waterdown

haha i plan to do something very similar with Atlas, it may have to be a week due to work. i have vacation planned for the week after i get him. small world indeed, i grew up in stoney creek actually, so much easier to say hamilton i guess eh lol!

It's really hard on one hand because you've invested so much of yourself into them and you really are in love from the moment they are born, BUT then the joy they bring their new homes- it is an indescribable feeling. And for those of us on here- most are very involved with our babies- like today, I received a text message with a picture from the owner of my very first Savannah baby. It's an amazing feeling to know you've impacted someone's life forever. And obviously, in a positive light

what a great feeling indeed. that is very sweet that the owner is sending you pics, what a good feeling seeing the kitten evolve. You are right, this is a life impacting breed. if kept healthy, i should have this cat until i am almost 50!

hahah, there are many of you in this club! i agree, it will be hard to turn face to Gaea. she has an incredible look. the inky black spots with the light coat contrast well

Congrats on your kitten, Christine has some if my cats and i have some of hers. I have been to her cattery and am going back in May. she is a good friend. Your kittens dad is knucklebones who use to be Spidersweb Savannahs stud. Knuckles came from Jasirisana Savannahs, he is Spose to be a big boy himself and super sweet. Patti from Jasirisana is on this list.

Wow amazing info, thank you very much! it is a good feeling knowing this community is that in tune with this breed. i am gonig to try to dig up pics of the stud to get an idea of what his father looked like. i seen pics of Inca, and she looked pretty big too!

Colored, that's where your boy gets it, knuckles is gold. If you are on Facebook, look up Spidersweb as I believe Anatole would have pics of him on there.

that is true, gotta play the cards you are dealt sometimes. Is it hard watching the little buggers go to their new homes?

It's very very hard. I cry each and every time. Even when Trish came to pick up Hattie last year, she had come to where I was giving a judge's seminar so was trying to be all professional...but then Trish was there (early I think) so I was crying and all the judges are giving me a big "awwww". You prepare yourself, you KNOW they are going to the best of homes and will be happy but still it's hard. Getting the updates and hearing how much joy they bring makes it easier. I LOVE hearing about my kittens in their new homes... no matter how long ago they were "my" kittens...

It is very difficult. It was so difficult for me that i kept 2 kittens. I cried when each kitten left and even a few weeks ago, i saw one of my kittens and started crying when he jumped into my arms...

But it is good to see them so happy and to hear how much joy they bring to their new families.

I get photos and phone calls letting me know how they are doing...makes me feel so good!

I was wondering if the dad was Knucklebones because I knew Anatole had sent him to Christine. If this kitten is anything like Knuckles he will be a very sweet, attentive, and fun loving kitten
