They've come a long way in just five months. Thank you ALL so much for sharing your knowledge and giving me the tools to properly introduce them. It is every bit worth doing it slow and giving them time. They are so happy together. Jengo is so much better with a buddy. He's much happier and Biz loves sneaking up on Jengo and following him around. They are hilarious! Jengo has even lost the wee bit of weight he gained because of all the chasing and playing.
I literally went to Home depot, after measuring the door , bought a screen door , took the regular door off the library , taking out two hinge pins , really easy, just keep kitties elsewhere while doing this, installed the screen door, with really strong screen door hooks on both sides, for when you are in with the new kitty, and you may also want to purchase a thin board for the bottom half of the screen door, and attach with screws to wood part of the screen as it can be difficult to keep any cat from taking out a screen, let alone a creative Bengal or Savannah.........I also site swap, kitties and objects, socks, towels t shirts I have slept in just for that purpose , I suggest site swapping objects first ,
Also I feed them with the new sweetie in the quarentine, a tall baby gate at the end of the hall , about 10 , 12 feet and the oldest resident, on the other side of the tall gate , even a tall gate may not work with a younger Cat, so you may need to use rooms both with screens,
Hang in there, it's so worth it to take the time, and have them be friends ,
