Is Chicken Liver and gizzards bad for cats?

Both my breeder and my vet warned me against liver. They said that it can cause Vitamin A Toxicity. I also read somewhere that cats in the wild tend to leave this organ behind.

Rafiki was fed only raw at the breeder. I have been feeding her Darwin and she likes it most of the time. It only comes in chicken and turkey so I am trying to find a supply of something different like rabbit or venison. I gave her a bite of both cooked and raw beef and she snubbed them both. My previous cats were venison-addicts but that was when my father was still alive and could provide these tasty tidbits..

In the wild, cats eat the entire prey...when I feed my savannahs chicks, they eat the entire bird, organs and all...too much liver, is not a good thing and that is why there are ratios as to how much liver, muscle meat, hearts, etc., you are supposed to add to raw...

Hope this helps.

Live or pre-killed chicks? I would imagine they would enjoy live, but the potential mess is a concern.
