Is my kitten a savannah?

Simba is presumably an F8A Savannah if his mother is an F7 Savannah.

He does resemble a Savannah kitten with a Bengal parent :) You were not cheated as far as looks go, given his supposed parentage.

I'm curious why you say anything less than an F7 is not allowed where you live? Does that mean a Savannah that is an F6, F5, F4, etc is not permitted? Can I ask where you live? I've never heard of a location that allows only Savannahs that are F7 and lower (F8, etc).

Yes, his dad is a bengal & savannah mommy? Does this make him a savannah if it's true?
As for the papers.... Yes, I am afraid of this...

If one parent is a Savannah and the other one is a Bengal, then theoretically as long as both cats are registered as their respective breeds and were sold with breeding rights, then the breeder can choose to register the litter as Savannahs or as Bengals. Either litter registration would come with a registration code beginning with an A designating that they are outcrossed with another breed. They would be in the Foundation Registry rather than the Stud Book Registry (SBT, what the cat world considers "purebred"). It then takes three generations of breed to breed crosses to make an SBT again (going through A, B and C registration codes).

I hope that you didn't pay a lot for what is in essence a mixed breed cat and possibly an unregistered one at that...

Cute kitten, doesn't really matter what she is you have her now and probably love her already.

Update :
No papers yet from seller still. Simba is getting bigger! Love him to bits. Still curious to find out about his breed. He doesn't look much like a Savannah but he certainly acts like one!

Very cute! I do see a lot of Savannah in there....the face is not as round as a Bengal but appears to have gotten the smaller Bengal ears. Eyes are more on the hooded-Savannah side versus the round Bengal as well. Cannot tell about the legs from the photo. Adorable baby.
