It has been a tough week...

... I have had better weeks, but I have not had much of a worse week... It all started out on Sunday, being a nice calm!

IMG_20260130_151049405.jpg Me and Elsa laying down and taking a nap... HOWEVER! that was not to last!

I heard loud banging at my door (surprised it didn't bust open)... I answered the door and a Frantic young gentleman said: "YOUR CAR IS ON FIRE.... YOUR CAR IS ON FIRE....". He had already called the fire department and it took 14 minutes to get there because they dispatched the wrong station. My suburban is burnt to a crisp, it got so hot that the Alternator as well as the Wheels and Rims melted (Literally and no Joke). It set the Carport on fire and that set the Garage on fire and the steel Garage door Melted!. Then the fire moved on to the rest of the house... They got it stopped pretty early there, but a lot of damage was already done!

Elsa was still inside, and I told them I was going into to get her! (I have been trained to how to get into a Burning Aircraft, a house is a lot easier), but they would not have it... A firement went in and somehow caught her and got her into her carrier and brought here out! ro me Surprisingly she was actually extremely calm by what I had expected, but she was not happy by anymeans....

Right now, me and Elsa are Ok and we are living in a Hotel... Elsa has always been a good traveler and a good sport! Just for the record.... She does not like Elevators, but she is going to have to ride one, one more time (I have bad knees and commercial stairs are painful), and that will be when we finally go home.

To make matters worse, the insurance is giving us some issues, but we will get through that!

No ETA on house repairs yet, but it is pretty ugly... I am attaching some photo's

OMG John, that is so insane! Thank goodness you and Elsa got out safely! The insurance should take care of it, that's what they're there for, don't let them try to get away with anything. Hopefully your stay in the hotel will not last too long. I'm glad you found a place that takes pets!

I found a Hotel that allows Pets in the rooms and we are still together in the Hotel as they allow Pets here and the rates are good as well. I brought one of Shorter Cat Trees and she is utilizing that one quite a bit and that allows her to look out of the window from the 3rd floor as well. So far, she seems to be enjoying it... She is usually just a little tough when it comes to going into the carrier, but once in, she is a good trooper... Once in the car, I open the carrier door and let her run around... Best Traveler I have had.. She loves to ride in a car as long as she knows we are not going to the VET, but I aclimated her with riding in the car at a very young age as we went 2 times a year on a 11 hour trip each way, The movement does not affect her and her carrier stays strapped in the front passenger seat and the door is open to where she can come and go as she pleases and a ready litter box when needed. She is a seasoned traveler and not too many cats seem to be seasoned travelers! In travel, the only thing I have found that she does not like is being on a list and walking in the Pet Area... I think there are too many scents there that she does not like... Other than that, no travel issues!

It is pretty much hard to tell Insurance what to do.... They seem to think they have God Like Powers over us in what they will or won't do! I am trying to fight them however!
