I'll start by saying i'm not a breeder, and my only experience with savannahs is my own lived experience with the two I have. When I got my boy (at 20 months of age) he was a lanky 13 lbs. He's grown considerably since then, and is now closer to 18 lbs. He's still incredibly long and lean, but BIG. I would have thought he was full grown when he joined our family - he was not a kitten after all, but he just kept growing! So your little doggy cat may get bigger as he ages.

It's odd that your vet said that neutering would stop growth, that's actually the opposite of what studies have shown. Studies show that male hormone production closes the growth plates of the bones, hence neutering before puberty will actually have increased growth.
I think I agree with the other estimates...if he's a bit over 6 pounds at ~6 months, chances are he will be at least 12lbs...and maybe 15... the ones I've had here that have been 20lbs by a year old were larger than that at 6 months. But as you say, when they are tall and lean the weight doesn't usually represent their "size" too well!

Just goes to show what everyone has been saying; that all kittens are different and grow at different rates! Your F3 boy is beautiful! And thank you for the info!

LOL! You know, I'm not quite sure about this particular vet. She's very nice and seems pretty smart. Although when we came in, she was cuddling him and said "oh, what a pretty little Bengal". Not that I would expect everyone to know the difference, but I at least would expect her to have looked at his chart first 
She's not too fond of him eating raw chicken either.
I take my pets to Banfield Pet Hospital, which means that the animals don't necessarily see the same veterinarian everytime they come in, but they're all awfully nice people there.

I am not at all fond of these kind of arrangements. People should have a relationship with their vet just the same as they have a relationship with their doctor. When I take my pet in I want them to know who I am, who my pet is and have some recollections of the previous conversations we have had.
For us the issue has been that when an emergency comes up, you just want to be dealing with the person you're most comfortable with. That isn't always a reality at larger animal hospitals. It has resulted more than once in my pet not getting the care they should have been afforded and I have ended up going elsewhere to get the care they should have had the first time.
As for Banfield Pet Hospitals, they are a big conglomerate owned by the Mars corporations. More concerned with how many vaccinations they can tally for the day than the health of your pet. They have taken several successful pet food companies providing excellent product and commoditized them while reducing the quality of the product. They rank right up there with P&G for drinking ass in the pet food industry.
If it were me, I would opt for a smaller vet where I could get more individualized care.

I am with John. I think that some of the vets and staff at Banfield are wonderful, but I personally prefer to deal with a vet who knows my pet.
Mickey Blue Eyes, the little guy in my avatar, was very sick in December and January. Our 9 pound kitten dropped to 6 pounds. I take our boys to a local animal hospital, and he saw the same two vets each time, and I think it made a big difference.
Again, this is nothing more than my opinion.
