Oddly enough, I had a small packet of that last week on my kitchen counter. I tend to keep the little ones to put into my underwater camera case as most of the ones that come with shoes are too big. I have an area on the corner of my counter that I place stuff to bring upstairs. For some reason, when I picked it up, I decided to put it into my kitchen junk drawer in the interim instead of with the other objects that needed to go upstairs. Sometimes it is best to listen to the "voices in my head"!

Not trying to sound commanding.. If I were you I would move it to a locked/latched cabinet that your Savannah cannot get too... I can give you lots of reasons why you should.

John, I trust my vets so if they recommended to induce vomiting, I would go along with it. But I would also stay right by her side, help hold her up, and make sure when she vomited she was positioned to prevent aspiration (not saying this didn't happen, just stating what I would do). Then I would go home and go through the house thoroughly looking for any other potential dangers. When I read earlier that Elsa had crawled under the couch today I cringed wondering what else might be under there - again, not saying that you didn't already check, just sharing my own reactions and responses to situations.

Well, in MY industry, we also go back and review things and go over procedures and attempt to learn from experiences.

But my industry- hahahaha- is cat poop and cats ;)

Look-- the only thing at this point I'd look at is your experience with the vet and at the vet. Is inducing vomiting the right response to this situation? I don't know, but I do know at least one of your vets (assuming you were using an emergency vet and a regular vet) was excellent and your girl is alive today because of great medical care.

If you are iffy on the recommendation to induce vomiting, ask yourself this-- do you have other e-vet choices (assuming it was the e-vet that gave you the recommendation)? If so, than you might look into using a different one. Another thing to add to this entire thing is-- although breeders are NOT vets-- this is where having an involved breeder can be a very positive thing too. Call them and bounce ideas/diagnosis/recommendations off of them. While using the forum is top-notch, it can be a bit confusing too because often, you will get many many different opinions (hahaha-- as in the feeding topic-- so many opinions!) so having a good breeder you can trust with a great vet usually makes a very nice safety net for kitten owners (that's just a random PSA.)

Thanks to everyone who replied... Seems over whelming that I made the right decision.. That makes me feel a lot better, as I was wondering if I had jumped to conclusions to early trying to do the right thing.. I am glad almost everyone agreed with me (13 Yes, 0 No, 1 Not Sure)... Makes me feel a lot better.

Don't misunderstand me on that... I made note of all of them and making changes to do better. I was talking about the original decision to take her to the vet, or see what happens...

Ha ha. It can be a little overwhelming at times for people.

Sent from my so called smartphone so all typos and bad advice can be blamed on said "smart" phone ;)
