There's probably as much difference between your two kitties as between ANY two kitties! Oh my!

I can only imagine that Mocha is going to get more and more annoyed with Simba as Simba gets larger and more rambunctious in play.... Savannahs tend to not take no for an answer when they want to wrestle. Poor Mocha has no idea what he has ahead of him...

Your Savannah boy is lovely, Kelly does a great job with her kittens :)

Welcome Mark, great looking cats. i love the pic of them both eating together and the one of them both sitting next to each other staring out the window. Lots of great info here and super helpful people, so if you have questions, I'm sure someone will have the answers. Cheers.

Thanks for the warm welcome.
The Savanna breed has been a wake up call. I did do my research before hand, but when people said owning a savannah is like having a toddler in the house. I thought to myself how bad can it be. I've had cats and dogs all my life. My first cat I got when I was 1 years old and he died when I was 21. I'm 49 years old.
My last 3 dogs died last year from old age. 2 English mastiffs and a black lab mutt. All 3 were 14 years old. The English Mastiffs were very lazy also. They weighed 235lbs and 185lbs. They were very easy to take care of. I could go away for the weekend or for a two week vacation, have a friend stop by and not give it a second thought. But now with simba my peaceful world turned upside down. Don't get me wrong, I love the little guy but it definently is a lifestyle change. I think the had part for vacations is the raw feeding. Mocha can only eat kibble. So I have to feed them in seperate locations. Mocha went from free feeding all day long to eating in a controlled environment.

With Mocha getting older, maybe having the controlled feedings is a good thing, it helps you monitor exactly how much he IS eating... I know with my SV getting to 11 we start talking to the vet about things and making sure a cat is eating the same etc is good info. When you have a number of cats free feeding then it is hard to know how much one of the cats is eating... so there may be a benefit to this ;-)

I'd likely more say a Savannah is like an ADHD toddler that can jump really high...
