Kitten Attract

We put a webcam on the wall next to the kitten box, but LaLa would hear it or sense it and would stare, then turn around so we couldn't see anything. Hiss. We even bought the thingy from the apple store so we could watch them while we had a house sitter. That lasted an hour?? I can't wait to see yours!

I don't know if I will broadcast it though...privacy and all that...

The girls are almost always the first to work things out... in my experience here anyway! So no surprise to me that Cinny figured out the litterbox super-easy :)

OH MY GOD. THANK YOU FOR THIS THREAD. (Please excuz teh interwebz capz).

I have had many issues with inappropriate elimination from Nitro, which may, in part, be linked to me trying to get him trained on the CitiKitty. I've lost a bed over this and have been sleeping on the couch for nearly two months because he decided to eliminate one too many times on my mattress and in every other corner of my bedroom.

I ordered the "Litter Attractant" (just the herbs) from Amazon, got them in this morning, and despite my belief that I had already gotten Nitro to use the toilet, I spread only a few drops on top of the litter, and he immediately hopped on and went for it! I know this is too soon to call victory, but you may have just literally saved my back!

You might want to consider a waterproof mattress protector in future? And make sure you get a good black light to look for pee spots and enzyme cleaner (Unique Distributors or AntiIckyPoo) to make sure there are no future issues...

Are you using the litter attractant in the CitiKitty thing or are you going back to litterboxes now?

To make a long story short, yes, I am still trying on the CitiKitty, but at present I've been locking him in the bathroom to do his business (it works 90% of the time) and locking him out of my bedroom (which is connected to the bathroom) the remainder of the time. I would like to not have to close those doors, since it deprives me of the use of a bedroom (and him of a bathroom).

Anyways, as to your advice:
-I do own a black light and UV goggles. I need to source a brighter black light, but it has been instrumental in finding problems.
-I got in AntiIckyPoo midway through last week, and have done one cleansing of my bedroom surfaces.
-I will keep the waterproof cover in mind. I've already got another bed; I'm just not using it yet (I enjoy sleeping with my cats, and I want that bedroom issue-free before I sleep in there again.

I'd think a mattress protector just a good idea for a while, especially if you've gotten a new bed... even when you think it is issue-free.

A good strong black light is necessary, I've a flashlight one that is super-strong (not sure where the link for it has gone though)... but also doing it at night so that it is as dark as possible helps.

Go crazy with the AntiIckyPoo... better to do a bit too much enzyme cleaner than not enough, as their noses are way more sensitive than ours.

Good luck!
