OH WE ALL KNOW.......WHO TRAINS WHO!! Your little one is so incredibly gorgeous! I'm wondering how different breeders( when I EVER refer to breeders it is never meaning backyard, just so yu know) must socialize their kittens differently.
Socialization is important but it is also important to realize that each kitten is born with its own personality, just like human babies - genetics, upbringing, and environment all play a role in a kitten's personality. I have had a litter of kittens that are extremely friendly and outgoing, except for one who was intractably shy and reclusive. It's an interesting study in animal behavior, but also a bit heartbreaking. I really feel sorry for these kitties because they seem to be (from my human perspective) missing out in so much...

Agreed, Patti, they are such individuals. With this recent litter of Nadiya's, one of the girls from before she opened her eyes was less confident and more fearful of human touch than the others. No reason, no incident...just her. We've worked really hard with her and she's miles better now...but still she is the one I doubt for show kitten just because of this. We may have turned it around a lot, but some are just born less social and also I think with different reactions to stimuli. Just like we humans are so individuals and some children in a family are more sensitive and shy than their siblings I guess!
