Leo & Smooch

It was nail trimming day today and I had a huge breakthrough with Smooch!! She just laid there and let me trim ALL of her nails! She purred and did little mews at me. Cheek rubs in between paws. Still shocked. Usually I manage ONE nail a day and for that ONE nail she turns into octopus-cat.

Leo of course tried to bite me, had to use the clothespins and he still tried but couldn't. I always try first without them, ever the optimist. He purrs like crazy and I take them off between paws, snuggle him and give him a treat. He doesn't run away but he hates having his nails clipped. I finally found the 2" binder clips but they seem so tight so sticking with the big plastic clothespins.

So I have far too many chipmunks in my yard and fear them getting in the house or garage. I use a hav-a-heart trap and relocate them far away in a wooded area by a stream. Caught one the other day and put the trap on a table by the porch. Leo and Smooch went INSANE. I now have a very hard time getting them to come back in as they are on perpetual chipmunk watch.

It was 38 degrees the other day and they were both huddled together shivering, watching for any action so I bought them coats. Same size coat on both of them to give you an idea of the size difference between them. I have to find a longer one for Smooch. When I put them on they both got so excited and ran for the back door thinking they were going for a walk, but it was raining. Sorry kitties!

They look adorable in those jackets! Where did you get them? It has been in the low 40's here in the morning out in the catio and Rafiki keeps running back inside.

Would you believe bed bath and beyond? Those were small but I think a medium will be too big in the neck for smooch. They are really furry inside and nicely made. The kitties were very comfortable in them but I need to find a longer one for Smooch. They have a few different types and even a cool kids "puffer" jacket, lol.

If I find a longer jacket to fit I will let you know.

They are adorable together! And I agree, the size difference is remarkable when seen in their jackets!
