The kids are doing well. Those names did not stick, lol, still trying to figure them out.
He is still a little love bug teddy bear toasted marshmallow snuggle kitten. He starts purring if you even look at him, BUT, he is Dennis the menace. Constantly eating, tasting, knocking things over, getting into EVERYTHING, ANYTHING. Just about everything is covered in bitter apple or the no scratch spray. And yes, that is him biting the ends of my fake fern off. He gets insane over tissues and paper. All garbage cans must have locking lids as he knocks them over to crawl inside and investigate.
She is still a bit more aloof but very responsive to me and very jealous of any attention he gets. I get tons of head butts and rubs, lots of conversations, and she will get in my lap if he is there, which is where he loves to be when he is not getting into mischief. She is a shoulder cat but has not perfected the art yet, hence my shoulders and back are a bit worse for the wear. She investigates everything but does not get into anything except the bathroom sink stopper. She is never so happy as when she has managed to remove it and bring it to me so that I can share her triumph. She is an extreme tunneler and loves a full laundry basket to happily unfold all of my clean clothing. She flattens herself and fits in spaces that seem almost impossible. She NEVER gets tired. He plays until he falls over and goes to sleep and she is still going. I then make her run laps with the laser pointer until she slows down, but she is never really done. I pick her up whenever she stops running and bring her to see things which allows me to hold her. She seems to be getting better at it and more relaxed.
They get along really well and play very hard. I have been checking in to see how Rafiki and Dino and Dooley have been doing but haven't had much time to go through the photos to post any. I spend hours with them until they nap, then time with the himy, then try to get some chores done, then back to the kids again, more time with the Himy, then I am so ready for bed, lol. My Princess has gotten to the point of watching them through a screen door that I have blocked with cardboard except a 6 inch space at the bottom. They are so busy playing and watching the bugs and birds that they really haven't noticed her. She was hissy at first but seems to have calmed down for now and gets closer to the door each day. I let her in their areas so that she can do the sniffing thing. I rub them with a towel then rub her down with it, then back to them. Just taking my time with her and will introduce them slowly.

If they were any cuter, they'd be illegal. As for all the mischief and mayhem, that's life with savannahs. They sound as though they are in the top percentile for energizer bunny status. You sound as though you are thoroughly enjoying them and I love reading about your adventures. Great job on quarantine and introduction too. Wish everyone was as scrupulous about that process as you are.

Be careful where they run (and jump. My little 4 mo old F2 guy recently sprained his front leg...Tons of energy...My 5 yr old F5 looks at me as if to say "Are you kidding me man?"

Hope your little guy gets better soon CheetahTwo. Yes I try to limit their access to very high places yet but every day they jump higher and higher. I try to teach them safe ways down from places they get into by moving storage boxes next to the area they discover they can get to. I have also found two ways to make them stop whatever they are doing and come running. Treat bag shaking along with here kitty kitty, or shaking the little chain on the laser pointer. These work well when they get carried away with playing a bit too rough. I only give them treats once a day to remind them what the sounds mean and to make them not want to miss it. I am giving them Blue kitty yums chicken. I also got the halo liv-a-littles chicken but when I try to break them into smaller pieces they turn to dust. How do you give them as a treat? In a dish whole?
I first bought Fooey ultra bitter spray but he loved it. Thought it added the extra kick that whatever he was chewing on was missing. Bitter apple did work though. I also bought the Ssscat motion detector air sprayer to place by the garbage cans. He thinks it's the BEST TOY EVER. Keeps trying to find new ways to sneak up on it and smack it and make it hiss. No fear at all. I hate using the sticky tape but may have to go that route. Water bottles of course have no effect as they seem to enjoy it
I did come to terms with the fact that my house will turn into a series of compromises before I even found them, but I do want them to be safe of course.
They are both exceedingly smart as the breed is known for. I sit and watch them looking at things and see the wheels turning as they figure out how to get at what they want. The current fascination is the ceiling fan which of course is off but they both sit and stare and look for a way.
Right now they have full run of upstairs but I bring them down to the screen porch every day for an hour or two using their carrier. It's gotten to the point that when I open the door they both charge in and sit waiting to go downstairs. We shall see how long that lasts as our next vet visit is next week.
I haven't attempted clipping nails yet, but when they are on down time I handle their paws and play with each nail. They LOVE the toothbrush and petrodent poultry. I have a seriously hard time getting them to take turns.
As I am typing, he is in my lap and she is on the back of my office chair tapping my head
My husband votes for Tarzan and Jane as the little boy can always be found hanging from something. A towel on the rack, a wall calendar, the handle to one of the cabinets, lol, but I think Jane is too plain for her. She's a beautiful kitten, elegant, determined, and a firecracker. Names will come to me eventually, but keep any ideas coming I really appreciate it.
