yes, put back in bathroom. Put onto raw diet only (as meat only is blander and easier on stomach than kibble) and give his poor immature system a few days to recover from the upset.

And make sure you let the breeder know of the issue so that they can add their advice!

He was fine for the first 1.5 weeks
even with the loose stools.

Probiotics won't hurt, but you need to give his tummy a rest as Brigitte has indicated. And if he has had loose stolls since he arrived, you might want to talk to the breeder about that.

The stool looked loose to me but in the litter box
The breeder had me add canned food to his meat because he was eating more dry
Now he loves the meet without the canned
He is back in the small bathroom
Took the dry out for a test
Had no accidents over night so far

If he's had loose stools from the start, then you might need to have him checked out by the vet... as if there is an intestinal pathogen you need to treat that first and the litterbox issue may resolve just from fixing that.

For loose stools, my vet advocates boiled chicken and a little white rice... as bland as possible to settle their digestive tract, then after a couple of weeks of good stools start reintroducing their normal diet slowly...

I did not want to stress him by takin him to the vet yet, but I took two stool samples in and the vet called and set it is all negative pathological microbiology.
I will like to take him for a social visit before a medical visit .
If raw diet and contained in the small bath room with some probiotic don't work I will take him in for a vet check.
He is lovable and happy otherwise.
I am not introducing him to the Bengal yet. Even the Bengal had some soft stools in the first weeks and had at least 3 poop accidents because I let him room the house at bedtime with kids chaos commotion .


He is getting more settled and comfortable.

Did they send the stool sample away for a PCR Gastrointestinal Panel, or was this an in-house fecal exam? A simple fecal can miss a lot of culprits that the PCR panel can pick up. So if the loose stools continue I'd highly recommend doing that.

Stress can cause loose stools but to continue for weeks is worrisome...

It was sent out... From what I understood .
I will confirm in am w the vet.
Tonight I picked him up and took him to the litter box in time .

The vet checked him and the stool and found a neat purring SV kitten with prob stress induced diarrhea
Now he is less stressed and going in the litter attract with no accidents
The breeder said that loose /soft stools are normal but he is not there yet
I am adding some probiotic to his meals
Any experience with Imodium ??
The vet and one breeder seems to be ok with it and other breeders do not recommended it.

I've not used it. The probiotic paste Proviable has kaolin and pectin which act to soothe the digestive tract AND firm the stool so I'd probably prefer to use that instead.

Was there any testing, or the vet decided from a physical exam that there was nothing wrong? My concern is simply that continued diarrhea for weeks can lead to things like IBD...so imho better to do the testing and make sure it is not anything infectious.
