I am glad that your fears have been allayed... and hope that Sabriel's stools improve soon then. What is the plan that they gave you to firm up the diarrhea then?
I would caution that just because you have fecal tested in the past does NOT mean there cannot be an infection. I think I have explained before that tap water can contain giardia... but it is not required for a town/city to treat the water unless it rises above a certain level, nor do they have to report it if it is below that level. Additionally, parasites like coccidia can be in the gut and not shed (therefore not be seen in a fecal test) until they overgrow when a cat or kitten is stressed...same with Clostridia. Hence I don't think it was foolish to be worried, but I think with what you have described about changing Sabriel's diet that that might be the more logical explanation.
