Well my brother doesn't have a savannah but we did get some "dog" training clickers and used some of the techniques discussed above, treat reinforcement and play reinforcement and it seemed to work fairly well. My brother's cat will eat whenever the opportunity is presented so treats really were good motivation as he doesn't get them very much. I will say that after a week or two we stopped giving treats and he continued to do some of the things we were working on with just a click. I don't think we ever transitioned into no clicking, except for sit, the cat will sit on command (raising a full fist up), but a lot of savannahs learn this pretty quickly without a clicker.

i think a lot of people underestimate cats and that's why there's so little information. Admittedly it takes time and patience. But after seeing videos of mice learning to fetch it made me realize that there's no reason a cat wouldnt do it.
i have no real basis for this, but my guess is that once you get louie started, it's because he's more serval that he'll be even better at it.
I don't think cats are untrainable. I think they are clever and could learn if properly motivated and enough time given.
But an F1 is a further challenge simply because of their intensity and determination to do what they want to do. Their level of persistence means they are a bigger challenge.
And I believe in cats you should pick your battles. Do I think cats can be trained to stay off counters? Yes, but only while I am in the room. Once out of the room, the cats will be on the counter...they will have perceived the rule to be "no counter while mommy is in the room".
Curtains and blinds are way too enticing... and again I am sure they perceive the rule as "no playing with the blinds while mommy/daddy is there to see". They do make their own fun...all we can really do is modify the home so that the fun is something we can live with ...

Cats and dogs are so completely different. Zeddie, luckily, doesn't scratch anything other than her scratch post. When I asked her about it, she said her cat mama, Belle, told her that humans don't like their stuff being scratched, and Zeddie absolutely worships her cat mama, so she decided not to scratch my stuff.
As for other training, she is too darn smart! Dog want to listen to you and please you. Cats want to outsmart you.

Cats are not difficult to train at all...I had Taj trained to sit, stay, come, shake paws by 4 mo old...I picked him up from his breeder when he was 3 months...and he is 4 years old now and has not forgotten what he learned...he also ran an agility course I put together for him in the house...
I couldn't get Zeddie to learn anything except sit...although I gave up after lay down as I didn't have that kind of perseverance. With lay down she just kept walking to the treat
