Loud Whining at the Door

I took a little sample of Sophie barking to go outside

Woooow she is NOT okay with being inside! I have no good suggestions besides having them associate their walks with something besides the door as others were suggesting.

But question for all of you who walk your cats: have you trained them at all to walk?? I take my lil guy outside but he is terrible at going on walks... It would be awesome if he could become adept enough that we could go to new places to walk around, but as it stands he just looks at everything and moves about 5ft total.

How do walks with your cats go?

If he is more interested in exploring the immediate area than walking try dangling a wand toy in front of him to motivate him to get going in the direction you want to head.

I've tried! He is more interested in looking at everything that he isn't even interested in the Da Bird! (dont let the other cats know, i've heard its sacrilegious) But as soon as he is inside again he screams to play with the da bird. The only thing that has worked to get him moving is food, but holy cow i'm running out of treats!

Unfortunately a F1 will let you know it wants to go outside. Before the doggie door was installed, he chewed the molding down to nothing. Now he sits in his enclosure and yells at the squirrels and rabbits.

We had a cat door on our door for the upstairs (aka the Bengal floor) and our F5 SV male didn't like the flap so he broke it completely off... The entire cat door, that is... He is a STRONG s.o.b...

It is the one pictured there, although I did make it 6x6x4...so I guess it is a custom size ;)
