Meds left out of refrigerator, what to do

One of our cats is sick and has liquid amoxicillin drops, which say keep refrigerated. This morning after we administered them, they were left on the counter. They were there for about 10 hours before we discovered them. I don't know if I should discard them - I have no way to replace them until Monday morning. Should I discard them and let the cat go without medication for three doses?

My brother, Rascaldad,is a pharmacist. He could probably answer your question. I don' t know if he is currently online. You could private message him. Sue

Ok, I read the fine print on the bottle. It says 'refrigeration preferable, but not required'. The 'shake well keep refrigerated' must be the 'default' sticker the vet puts on the box. So I will continue to use it and kitty should be fine.

I think it is more because the meds are in a liquid base that has the potential to spoil. The medication effectiveness would be unchanged.
