George is a very handsome guy, congrats! Shango is the opposite... He's good at leaving glasses/coffee cups alone as long as he sticks his face close to sniff it first, but loves stealing plastic water bottles. He knocks them off the table or takes them from me and proceeds to bat them around on the floor chasing then. Then he starts chewing on them until they are squished flat. Very entertaining to watch lol!

Thank you for the welcome!! I love hearing all the stories about other Savannah's. I don't know anyone else (personally) that has one, so haven't had anyone to compare stories with. This is an awesome page! Glad I joined. Also enjoying the information I have been gaining from this site.

Welcome and congratulations on George! He's lovely as all F1s are :)

I'm glad that you mentioned taking down some items to keep them safe...very sensible! Glass fronted cabinets can be great to keep those things safe, it's how I can have a vase of flowers... get used to drinking from sports bottles! LOL!

Thank you for the welcome! Yes!!! I learned the hard way about flowers. I hosted a sitdown dinner party at my house. The table was set beautifully with candles, Christmas ornaments and 6 silver vases stuffed with big white flowers. I left the room for 3 minutes and when I came back........ every single flower had been plucked from every vase and George had his paws inside one of the vases. He was very proud of himself! LOL..... Its fun to read about all the crazy things that other Savannah's enjoy doing.

Welcome to you and gorgeous George!

Yes, before Rafiki came along, I used to set the table first thing in the morning for a dinner party. You know, get it done and focus on other things. Now, I am practically waiting for my guests to knock on the door before setting the table!

A vase of flowers is a three way cat toy...there's the flowers to drag out and around the room, the water to splash in and the vase to test gravity with.

Before I got the cabinet, I tried using museum wax to "glue" down the vase of flowers... and it was a definite challenge to our F1 at the time. She tried to push it over, and when it wouldn't she took steps backward and ran up and threw herself at it! She was so determined the darn thing would topple! LOL!

You just have to have a sense of humor to own these cats...and you will use it every day :)

Yes, I usually wait until guests are there and dinner is almost ready before I pull out the placemats, cutlery and napkins etc. Guests already know to hold their glasses at all times ;-)
