Need crash course in FIP

Thanks Kelly. There's some irony here that I'll tell you one day.

Vet suspects our new SBT kitten, 4 mo. Old with FIP. His belly is swollen, he's been on prednisolone for a week. He's home, eating, purring, drinking, not playing.

I really hope that the Vet is wrong on the diagnosis I just lost my F4 to FIP on Friday. I am heartbroken over the loss he had just turned one last month. He had been sick since Aug and the vet couldn't tell us what was wrong with him but suspected that it was FIP for months. We spent a lot of money and time at the Vet over the last several months and tried our best to keep him happy and healthy. It wasn't until he had trouble breathing and I took him to emergency that I was told that he had fluid in his lungs which is a sign of FIP. They drained the fluid and determined my worst fear. We gave him the best life possible considering the health problems he faced during his short time with us.

It looks positive from the tests but I still have some sources to check. Thanks, Paige.

He was on the pred for nine days before we stopped it. Still no labwork back, but maybe tomorrow. We're leaving the TV on when we're nt holding him because he lives to sleep on the cable bx.
I hope the lab work comes back okay. Bless that little soul ;>)

Emlee, I am sorry for your loss. Just know his suffering is over. I am sure Rainbow Bridge is a beautiful place for the babies lost.
