I think getting a companion for Loki is a great idea, and I'm glad it was so easy to find him one. As for the vaccines, you will have to ask the shop what their policy is, but the current recommendations for shelters is to give a vaccine at 6, 9, and 12 weeks (there are different recommendations for pet owners). I would definitely try to keep her in isolation until at least a week after the first vaccine, but preferably until after the second one.

Also, remember that Mary Ann will most likely be viewed as an intruder by Loki, especially if he is so attached to you and he thinks she is taking your time away from him, so you may need to do a bit of work on the introductions once she is out of quarantine.

I have seen her and played with her through the cage a few times now. so I feel like I have an idea that she is gunna be a good fit. I am getting her as more of Adams cat. He will be the one spending the most one on one time with her sleeping with her at night etc so I can still give Loki all his attention. At least when I spend time with her I can plan I have Adam be with Loki. He plays with him when I am home for the most part because I start and he wants to join in then we all get into a game of chase. So I will do my best to be equal. I had to do the same with my two bunnies splitting up time and doing shifts playing with them the 4 months before I had them fixed. It would be through SPCA so vaccines are all covered so is spay. 100$ adoption fee normally but currently if I donate a can of milk replacer I get the kitten half off. Which I didn't know about. As a promo they have going on currently. It's kitten season aftermath currently so I understand. Technically for now I would be fostering her until she is spayed. That's how the costs are all covered. I pay 25$ down then 25$ upon spay once certificate of ownership comes to me. It also allows me to exchange if I find she is not a proper fit. I don't want to expose then until I give Loki his felv vaccine just to be on the safe side. And then have her tested for felv and fiv. I will get discounted rates for all tests in the first year and on checkups through certain vets. For the cost that is involved in a new kitten that is a terrific price. Especially if it works out as a great match!! Worth every ounce of time and patience.

Ok so I am going to meet a kitten tonight. Actually I am going to have coffee with a new friend and talk cats and possibly get a kitten tonight. A friend referred me to a local small cattery for bengals because they had a kitten left that will be the last one remaining and she is getting a divorce soon and needs to find a home for him. After 3 hours chatting on the phone. (I know we get along fantastically) she decided she could use a break and meet up for coffee since I am not willing to drive all the way out to her home in the dark. She is trying I find homes for most of her breeders as well. She was asking 200$ for her 12 week old bengal which turns out is an f6 =] after talking to her for so long she decided she was just going to give him to me. She appreciated having someone to listen and talk to her.

I didn't expect any of that I was thinking maybe future reference I didn't plan on spending money on a kitten like that unless a rescue but knowing the two will have similar activity levels makes me feel soooooo much better. And at the very least I made a new friend her living situation is rough and she doesn't have many people she can talk to her husband is abusive and has a blind daughter autism which I knew about. Bless her for staying so strong. She's interested in doing reiki treatments I'm going to see if she will at least accept a group of reiki sessions for her and her daughter in repayment. It's amazing what friendships can start because of these little blessings. Shoot I did afterall meet all you because of these fur babies the we all love so much.

Instead of Mary Ann. I can't have that many cats in my apartment. He agreed to one more cat and that's it. Mary Ann is sweet but after I got home my eyes got a little itchy after I rubbed my eyes I was still going to get her and I still will if I find this bengal if I don't feel the bengal will get along I'm gunna meet him so I'm going to feel him out. If I can get the perfect match between allergy and energy I will be thrilled. I think her coat hold a lot more dander she had medium length coat. And short hairs ironically bother me less. Also Mary Ann would be a foster and I would need to come in bi weekly until she is mine to the SPCA which is a lot of work. Yes vaccines are covered testing and spay is covered but if I miss one appointment I have to forfeit her. Which is a little risky. It's tough in trying to go into this open minded. If I don't feel it will work out then I will stick with her. But same also goes for the bengal if it doesn't workout I can take him back at any time
