Glad it went well. Poor Sahara having to wear the cone. We've been very lucky and never had to use a cone before on any of our pets or past foster pets.

Hi Treywi,

You are lucky that yours didn't have to wear the cone. I hate it myself and Sahara hates it with an avengence. She's fallen asleep on the sofa right next to me. image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

Poor baby having to wear a cone... none of mine have had to do that after a spay (no external sutures to mess with) and it's a good thing as any time one of mine has had a cone put on it has never lasted more than a matter of minutes :-(

Hope she heals fast....so what did the vet say about doing it from the side and the advantages?

I think she's going to put more stress and stretch on her incision trying to get that cone off than she would without it, poor baby! I see your vet went with the side approach - very interesting, I've never seen that before.

What is the story with the conjunctivitis? Have you noticed that she's been having discharge from her eyes? Very unusual that she would pick something up at the vet and start exhibiting symptoms right away. Poor thing, as though she doesn't have enough to deal with...
