I am sure you had no intention to go in the direction this thread turned into.
I and many members that have been around for awhile, know of the hard work it is to keep the breed legal in the the United States. They are still many areas where the cats are not legal to own. Many areas where the generations must be F5 or later. If not for the efforts of some of these members, it is quite possible I may not have been able to have a Savannah.
What you may not know is the very strong effort of Animal Rights activists in the USA is to ban all the Savannahs, and Bengals for that matter.
What you may not realize is these activists would gladly use your website to use against the breed.
That is why the word "wild" is so sensitive to use.
You have a very good idea to promote the breed in the UK, and Europe for that matter. I encourage your efforts. I hope you understand there are people in the world who are actively and fiercely trying to halt your ability to have a Savannah. It is through education that Savannahs are domestic cats, that the truth will prevail. I'm sure you understand how activists will twist words to attain their goal. I'm sure you did not realize that you may have inadvertently given them a chance to use your words against the breed.
Have patience. You can positively promote the breed. You can get good advice how to promote the breed from the TICA Savannah Breed Committee, most of whom are members of this forum. I am confident they would like another advocate to help the cause of promoting Savannahs.
Each of the members of this forum in their own way contribute to the breed promotion by contributing to the forums and help new owners and and those with these cats for years but new challenges.
I hope you consider being a part of this advocacy.
