Hi, your boys are gorgeous! I have a little girl of the same age and have also just found this forum. I'm sure you will find it a great help - I have also had cats my whole life and even worked with some of the big ones! I have still been taken by surprise by their very 'puppy' like behaviour and boundless energy! It sounds as though you have made a wise decision having two babies as they can match each others playfulness - I am finding one of my cats is not coping with her very well! He is such a sweetie and hasn't put her in her place yet! Whereas my older boy has her in her place already. I haven't been as lucky as you with handling her but she makes progress every day. Welcome and I am sure you will get as much help and support from the forum as I so;):)

Thank you! The boys definitely keep each other busy. I think I got lucky with them because they were both handled quite a bit from birth. I have to warn everyone who comes to my house not to pick them up. The boys aren't shy at all and run to see who is at the door; but unless it is close to nap time, they don't usually sit still to be admired. Kieran put at nice surgical slice on my neighbor's lip when he wasn't put down quickly enough.

I try to time when I handle them. So far, they've both been good about letting me know when they want me to pick them up. Mostly, they like sitting beside me to watch what I'm doing for a few minutes. And they "own" the house, so they don't really have to try to figure out where they fit in. That has to be a layer of confusion for your little girl, who thinks the whole world revolves around her!

This site is great. I can't believe the amount of knowledge and experience that is shared here. So glad I found it!

It sounds like you're doing a great job with your kittens. I would not try to out wait them, if the don't like a particular food. Don't force it. I have returned a case of rabbit to the store that was special ordered. To this day one of mine will not eat me ground raw chicken ( but he loves the chunks). I find it mildly insulting, but the cat is very healthy. So that's all that matters.

I am in Los Angeles. If you want to try ground raw chicken or turkey at a great price with no obligation to continue, try Darwin out of the Seattle area. They have an introductory offer for 10 lbs for $15. My male Pixie bob is from that area and that is what his breeder started him on. I still get my ground meat from them but I also give them chunks of meat as well.

Hi, yes you are lucky your boys are confident and greeting their visitors! My girl saw our neighbour this morning and although not over friendly she did sniff her! The fact that she hasn't run off to hide was a surprise but like you I will be warning people to leave her to come to them to avoid any scratches! That sliced lip must have been painful :(

My I hope you manage to work out a diet that your boys are happy on. Take care :)

I can't THANK YOU enough!!! Holy moly, the Stella & Chewy's was a hit!!!! Kieran wouldn't try it at first so I put a few of his treats on top and he started eating. I came home to a chewed bag (never happened before). When I put more down for "dinner" they both ate! I can't wait to see how they react to the fresh raw. One relieved mom here in SD!
