New kitty...

Ok, so someone told us about a 'bobcat' kitten or at least one that looked like a bobcat that got dumped and was going to be killed if someone didn't take it. My husband loves bobcats and we thought hey, we'll take it. So they went and got it today. So not a bobcat :/
It's got 3 things going against it to stay here though: it's long haired, a girl, and black. Past kitties have dictated that we don't have cats like that :(. (Don't get me wrong, I LOVE black animals, but bad things have happened to my previous black kitties). So it looks like I've got a foster. Poor thing is so scrawny :(. But super friendly and purred immediately.

Are the ears slightly curled back? It looks like it could be a Highlander. What's her story - how did she end up at the shelter? Not all long hair is equal, I've had a couple of long haired Highlanders who were very easy to care for.

No, her ears are not curled back. And she wasn't at a shelter. A friend's grandmother lives next to some people who had a bunch of kittens dumped. They tried not to feed them so they would leave and find some of them homes. I guess this one wouldn't leave and no one wanted her because of the bobcat look. The little boy that lives there started feeding her and got attached. I guess the parents didn't want her and they were going to kill her if no one took her. So they wanted us to wait until church today so the kitten would just disappear while they were gone. My friend's grandma was feeding it some I guess because she noticed they weren't feeding her.
And don't worry Cary, if she doesn't stay here I'll make sure she has a great home.
She's so sweet...as soon as I open the door she runs up and starts purring.
