Thank you Lori, you're so right! lol

Shelby discovered something new today....Toilet Paper! Oooo this stuff is fun and tears so easily! lol Another thing about this little guy, whoa can he jump! He's an amazing climber and jumper, but he's not the most fleet footed. He falls off the cat tree and scares me half to death when he falls. Usually happens when he's in the middle of climbing then decides to go after one of his toys and forgets that he's still in the middle of climbing. He just bounces right back up and goes and does it again. But does anyone else have a kitten that's this clumsy? Scares me because I have a really tall cat tree and he's fallen from pretty high up. And about cat's always landing on their feet...Not this guy lol Shelby has some serious hops though. Chloe is getting better about him and getting closer to accepting him. But we had a minor setback when he was playing and she was laying down right next to me. He was trying to jump onto my lap and overshot me and landed right on top of her. Chloe FREAKED out! She didn't know what to do and just jumped back, hissed and growled, but still didn't bat at him. I have to admit, it was really funny to see. I picked him up and told him he's playing with fire, but he was purring so I guess he didn't seem to care lol Kittenhood is so much fun! :)

Scott, it may be that he has never had a cat tree? Mine also is ver tall and when the babies are young....I lay it down on its side ...AND LET THEM EXPLORE;>) After a few days I will place foam cushions that I purshased all around the base (in case they fall). I am nervous about the falling.

Shelby, thats a good idea about the cushions. I have some thick fluffy pillows I'll set down around The base. He's an amazing climber, even at this young age. But he sometimes shoots up at mach 10 and while climbing up decides to bat at the stuff hanging from the different levels. I guess he forgets he kinda needs those paws to keep hanging on lol Maybe i should take down some of the hanging toys at the higher levels. I think i'll do that along with the pillows. Thanks!

Shelby is a handsome dude. The clumsiness will end, mostly, as he gets older & wiser. Mine still walk off the end of things, usually when they're looking at me and forget where they are, and go kerplop off the end of the bed or a table. Of course, they try to act as though they meant to do it but there's no hiding the look of surprise on their faces when they find out they still can't walk on air.

Well today, I measured Shelby and weighed him. For those of you that are breeders or have a lot of experience with different SV's, do you mind telling me if this is big, small or about normal for an F3 (or any SV for that matter) of 15 weeks of age. Obviously they keep growing for well over a year and up to 2 years, so anything could happen, but I'm just curious if he's on pace to be a big guy, or more regular house cat sized. He seems quite long as some of you may have noticed in some of his pix. He eats like a horse tho lol

15 weeks (tomorrow)
height at Shoulder: 9 1/2"
Length 12 1/2"
4.75 lbs

I usually consider one pound per month growth for at least the first six months pretty average for a Savannah, so anything over that is better than average.

I think he is growing well and actually is as large as would be expected at his age;>) He is actually growing quite well it seems;>)

Congratulations! It looks like the 2 f you are best buds already.
thank you Jacq, we definitely are :) he's such a fantastic kitty. He sleeps by my side through the entire night now. He even waits until I wake up to get up. My other cat has finally come to accept him and when i get home, they both are standing at the door waiting for me. I couldnt ask for a better kitty. I really hope someone from our forum buys his available sister because if she's anything like him, she'll be an amazing pet for someone and from the pics I've seen of her, she's a really pretty girl too.
