Rafiki poofs the base of her tail (the first 3" or so near her butt) every morning when we get up. This is morning poof and it means that she is very happy. She will poof the entire tail and the ridge along her back when excited or startled. I know that the game is fun when the entire tail poofs out.

Poofy tail is my favorite. Zeddie gets poofy tail when she plays hide and seek, and does the base poofy tail sometimes when I come home.

Jimmy gets base poofy tail in the morning, and gets the ride in the morning too, all the way up to his cheeks. He goes full poofy tail when you keep petting him and he is happy and excited.

They both go full poof when they are startled...mainly by dogs. Zeddie hates dogs

When Sterling was still a kitten, he would poof his whole tail on walks. He otherwise had friendly and curious body language. We called it his adventure tail.
