Unless I could completely shade an outdoor enclosure, I would hesitate to let my fur kids out in the summer time. 115 degrees is too hot for man or beast. BTW, I do not need a pond. I have a pool.

Cary, I live in Los Angeles. My catio has shade cloth on top. Yes, it still gets quite hot during the day but even during the hottest days, my furkids love being out there in the morning and evening. Spending the evenings out there with the hubby and the kids (and perhaps a bottle of wine) is worth every cent we paid for that thing.

If I had a Patio, I would enclose it for a catio. But I would have to create an area of enclosure on 3 sides, (4 including the top) and finish off a partially constructed addition to my house for an entrance to said enclosure. My social security just would not cover that expense. My kids are happy. They get time out when the temperatures are decent. Also, if I was younger.......
