New Puppy! :) Kitty being territorial.

I agree about the ears, Kelly. I went to a dog park on Saturday, and there was a Doberman puppy with his newly cropped ears in splints. This kind of mutilation makes me sick.

My daughter saw one like that as well at the park. She has no filter to her words and started asking the lady what had happened to the dog's ears. I chuckled quietly to myself listening to the woman try to explain to my kid the logic behind the procedure and seeing her falling short of a reasonable explanation and becoming a bit indignant. Later I explained to my daughter why people do that to their pets.

LOL! I can just picture that exchange. Good for her for speaking up!

even though my little Sailor is still a bit weary of our two wolfdogs she loves to attack their tails as they wag back and forth. i find that the savannah to dog bond is just so sweet and endearing. our other savannah Pix simply adores those big fluffy pups and runs up to rub on their oversized paws with enthusiasm. but it isnt immediate and always helps to make your dog in a calm submissive state when the two interact.

We do keep his nails clipped, even more for that reason now. You have to be kidding about the rattlesnake... My last boxer died from a bite to the tongue too! Must be more common than I thought.

Good to hear! Keep S's nails clipped. An errant claw in the puppy's eye can lead to some expensive damage! Most cats are more careful than you would think but still.

I love boxers. They don't live long enough for me but I used to house for some as a kid and have fond memories of my "first dog" which wasn't really mine but he was more bonded to me than he was his owners. I did a lot with him, including obedience school, and he constantly made me laugh with the crazy things he did. His short but amazing life was cut short by a rattlesnake bite to the tongue. Can imagine what the snake was doing in his mouth- no surprise.

Floppy ears are way cute, but then I have a beagle! LOL! Just cutting things off the body of a pet for "looks" just seems wrong... I'm glad your daughter (was it Jori or Reggie?) spoke up at the park about it!
