Thanks so much for the advice. He's been eating kitty tuna but I had read that that isn't so good either. He eats Wellness soft food. Is it just tuna that can cause a vitamin deficiency? Are other types of fish better? He LOVES anything fish.

The other funny thing is he is a really big kitten (10lbs!) but he can curl up and look so tiny. We got an F7 because we felt it would be a better choice for new owners not familiar with this breed nad intend to get an F3 once we learn Jengo, but how large will an F7 get?

Awww he is so cute! I would not go by weigh. My Keeba is a f-3, 3yrs now, so he is full grown. He is 12pounds, almost 14 inches tall, but he's really long. I know Pams Simba is a big boy, I'm sure bigger than my Keeba and I know he's a lower generation..... I would not go by weight. I know someone that has a f-6 and weights 30 pounds....He is not bigger than Keeba, he is very over weight, he needs a diet and doesnt even look like a savannah anymore:( . He should weight about 10-12pounds.

Welcome Charley and Jengo. I'm happy to hear that you'll be getting another SV at some point. Double the fun. I have a 3.5 yr old F6 who is 10.3 lbs and also a talker and we love it too.

Hi Charley, welcome to you and Jengo! Looks like you have gotten plenty of good advice about diet already. As far as the talkers, the Savannahs that have Oriental Shorthair in their foundation breeds tend to be more talkative, but the noises they make seem to have been modified by the serval genes. Some of my cats make a sound just like the serval chirp, but others have sounds that are purely unique, most of them somewhat birdlike. I have one boy who sounds exactly like a peacock, and so does his son. At the TICA annual in Orlando, he attracted a lot of attention with his loud call, and had a lot of experienced cat breeders puzzled, as it did not sound like any cat vocalization at all. People were looking for the bird in the show hall, lol! :big grin:
