I have a quick question. I have a new male savannah Dakhari. He's 7 mons. I have had him for a couple months now. I did all the introductions as you all recommended. Introduced the other cats each by themselves.

Well My female Savannah Xayla who is 5, hisses and growls at him to this day. She will get close to him sniff him out and once he looks at her she hisses, growls and runs off. I'm assuming she wants him to follow but idk. He's very laid back. He will even roll over then she seems to want to swat at him.

My question is is this normal and will she obviously need more time to get used to him? I hope she will get to a point that she will accept him. Any thoughts????

I think it may just take more time. I have 2 girls that have been together for a little over a year now. They started out fighting and now it is just growling. I doubt they will ever bond but it is peaceful at least.

As with humans, some cats just don't like each other, and girls can be more persnickety about accepting new cats into the family. You can try using some Feliway diffusers or catnip spray in the areas they inhabit the most to see if she will calm down. I have also heard that dabbing vanilla extract on the nose (thus masking the other cat's scent) may facilitate the acceptance process.

Try using a calming calmer, dabbing vanilla on noses and/or separating again and reintroducing. It could be they will never get along, but will coexist...or one day you will see them together and be shocked :)

My f3 female was nurturing toward our f1 male kitten when he arrived. He plays different then her and my dsh’s. she now grumbles and growls at him when walks by or jumps up on the bed when she’s sleeping. She will also go up to him, give him a sniff hiss and run off. My f1 likes to nip the butt and hind legs when playing. Once this happens my f3 gets hissy, smacks him and grumbles at him all day. My f1 looks shocked that no one wants to play with him.
I call her miss grumbles a lot now. My f3 was the shy little kitten. Not anymore.

Others have had good advice. Something that has worked well for us in the past is perfecting the double handed wand toy play... if you can get both cats playing in the same room it seems to ease tensions. It might be a combination between getting rid of the nervous energy and the positive association of fun in the same room as that other cat.

In general, as long as you can redirect before there are physical alterations, you probably will find with time that it settles down...
