Not sure if I have a Savannah

Hi and welcome to the forum! I cant really tell much by either set of pics you posted, however, it is certainly possible that you have a little guy who either has some Savannah in him or some Bengal in him, or both. With the size of his spots I would guess there is definitely some Bengal influence. Either way, Gizmo is definitely a beautiful boy!

Ok. I got a couple pics of Gizmo's legs. They are long for him but he never seems to fully extend his front legs when standings. He likes to stay low to the ground :) He's playing with our chocolate lab in the pics.

Those spots are pretty defined! Mine have socks and bibs, which indicate even more of a mix. Finding out the breed of your cat can help in knowing what temperament and health issues you're in for, so don't give up here.

Agreed that knowing what breeds go into your cat is important, but it's important also to not fix on one likely ancestor if the cat is obviously a mix of breeds.... it's like those that purchase an outcrossed Savannah, the outcross parent has equal input into the kitten's looks and personality (and possible health issues)...

I think the fun of a mixed breed kitten, or one from a shelter...is without a background you get the fun of seeing how they develop and learning what they are like. And you get to make up their story...

Thanks again for the replies. I know that we have a "mixed bag" when it comes to Gizmo's background. Since the people that had him prior to us were willing to let him be carted off by coyotes rather than care for the little guy - I don't think I will get much info on his background. We are content to sit back and watch what happens with him as he grows up :) If it is ok with the forum, I will check back in occasionally with updates on his progress. Right now he is at the annoying "latch on and bite your ankles" stage. Ears seem to be growing with him, but still hard to tell because he is still pretty petite for his age. The chirping continues when he is happy and in attack mode now lol! Thanks again!!

Mine sound like zebras. Strangest sounds I ever heard out felines. A cross between a chortle and a chirp.

Tiberius tried to shove himself down the laundry chute (aka portal to Narnia) today. I feel like I adopted raccoons.

You know - that's a good way to describe the sound! Maybe we have a new breed of cat/raccoon! I swear that a cat I saw down the road that hada raccoon tail lol!

P.S. I for one think your "mixed bag" is from Prada. He might not be an F1 (I think mine might be an F26), but there's defiantly some special sauce in his kitty veins. (I'm not a breeder/admin or anyone who knows anything) but from what I've seen-he has amazing markings. Where did you find him? What's his story?

Here's mine on the hunt:

Also child proof your house. Invest in a good cat tree. Mine have figured out doors and garbage can lids. They scale walls and bookshelves on a regular basis-nothing is safe. They're 5 months old. If they had opposable thumbs they'd be running for congress.
