Ten weeks is still too young to go home. I'd recommend showing your breeder the thread on this site about why holding babies until a little later is so beneficial (hey, all good breeders learn something new every day)

yea that little dude has gorgeous looks, black noses are my favourite! nice name too! I remember what my first week with my little guy was like, took some time to get used to and he still surprises me wth something new every week, best wishes for u and havoc!

Trish, I have been breeding Savannahs for close to 11 years now and almost always send my babies to their forever homes at 10-weeks of age. Provided they are fully weaned, not experiencing any vaccine reaction issues and are religious about their litter boxes...the are good to go. I will add that none of my kittens or clients have experienced any issues after arrival and I personally believe this is best. We, as Breeders, all have our own methods and beliefs regarding what is right...but I must say that I take huge issue when other Breeders post things like this as though they are in the right and the rest of us simply don't know our asses from a hole in the ground. SOME kittens do require more time at the Breeder's facility before they are truly ready for their forever homes, but not all of them. Determining when to release a kitten is up to the the individual Breeder and based on a variety of things involving his/her ability to acclimate in a new home. Kittens cannot be flown prior to 8-weeks of age, per Federal Law...but beyond that, it is the Breeder's call based on her/her expertise and experience with her/her own lines.

I feel 9 weeks is good to get a new savannah kitten to his new home so he can get socialized with his new family. Especially if someone is getting a F1.
